Food & Drink
We’ve been thrilled by the reaction to the new Hub café and Hatch service since we opened in mid-July. It seems to be living up to our ambitions of creating somewhere that everyone can feel comfortable and welcome.

Our Hub Café
Our new Hub Café offers:
-
- indoor/ outdoor seating
- relaxed sofas and chairs, large table and lots of smaller tables which can be moved and brought together for bigger groups
- a play corner to keep young ones occupied
- displays by local artists, many of which are for sale
We offer our Hatch Service during general opening times when the main café is in use for our activity programme.
Fully licensed and dog friendly too!
Note for Parents
Keep your children safe at the Hub
At the back of the Hub is an enclosed space which our customers can visit and enjoy. We would ask parents to closely supervise their children in this area as it contains a swale, which looks like a planted pond but is in fact part of the drainage scheme for Hub environs. Whilst there is some fencing around the pond, it is not fully enclosed.
Café Opening Hours
* Our Hatch service starts from 9am
The Hub café is presently operating summer hours (April – September).
During school term-time:
- We offer catering from 9am Tuesday through to Sunday, with the Hub Café open from 10am.
- There is no service on Mondays as this is when the activity programme for the community operates.
Closing times will vary according to what is happening in the park and demand. If there is something on then we may be open later, but these are the earliest general closing times.
During school holidays, the opening times may vary to include Monday opening. Please see the noticeboard in the Park, or call us on 01792 71 21 81 to check.
In addition, the Hub will be open for events and key sports fixtures.
Please ask if there is some sporting action you want to see live on the big screen.
Our Hub Menus
We continue to listen to our customers, so will be updating our menu soon.
Our current breakfast menu has baps, bagels, things on toast, breakfast pastries and light bites, plus a full breakfast option. Check out our breakfast items menu for details which is available throughout the day.
For lunch, our menu focuses on Paninis, Burgers, Jacket Potatoes and Salads, with kids lunches of sandwiches or chips available, plus regular specials, such as traditional Welsh Cawl. Check out our lunch menu for details and pop in to the Hub to find out about the specials.
If you are looking for liquid refreshment, we serve a wide range of teas & coffees, plus a range of soft drinks, wines, beers and spirits.
And there is always a range of fresh cakes and savoury snacks available every day, plus of course Joe’s ice cream tubs, so there’s something for everyone!
Special Event Catering
If you would like to hold your meeting or special event at Underhill Hub then you can take advantage of our full café and bar service and the expertise of our team in creating delicious food which meets your tastes and budget.
Our team has put together a range of menus for meetings and special events booked in at the Hub which can be changed and added to meet your needs.
Come in and chat to the team about what is on offer!
Our doggy friends
Underhill Park has always been popular with dog walkers, particularly in the summer when local beaches are closed to dogs, and we don’t want this to change. So we have made sure we are providing something for them too.
You can purchase dog ice-cream and a variety of dog treats, either in the Hub café or from the Hatch service.
In case you have run out, we also sell poo bags. Picking up dog poo in the park is essential, not only as a courtesy to other walkers and park users but particularly for our sports players who don’t want to end up with poo on the face when diving for or with the ball.
After a successful trial during which we welcomed responsible dog walkers and their pets into the Hub just in the mornings, this has now been extended to any time when we the café is open. This policy will be kept under review so, if you are bringing your pouch in, please make sure they are well behaved, stay on the floor not the furniture and that you take particular care around young children and those who are not comfortable having dogs around.
Art in the Hub
Art is food for the soul so we are delighted to be using our pegboard wall as a display area for local artists.
As well as helping create a delightful atmosphere in the Hub, the works are for sale.
At the moment we have beautiful prints by local artist Janine Brown. Her paintings are of Mumbles and Langland and come either framed or unframed. We also have some of her greetings cards too!
Come and take a look next time you are visiting the Hub!
